Girl online mini review

Hi guys,

Thought I would start off with a review on the book "girl online." As it has made me want to blog again!  I used to blog when I was a teenager but deleted it as soon as a friend found it in fear of being made fun of.

To me this book is an easy read and I am really proud that Zoella the author has managed to get young teenagers to read! The sales of this book beat JK Rowling!  Girl online touches on having unsupportive friends, panic attacks, the social pressures to not stand out and the relationships within families.  I don't think that the love aspect teaches you much as it would never happen to me but it made for an interesting read!

Penny's relationship with her friend, Megan, is exactly how some of my "friendships" are. I grew up with these people but now they are totally different from who I am.  They make me feel bad for liking certain things and dumb for not reading the same books as them or enjoying the same shows.  I had to learn the hard way that some people are not worth wasting my time on.

I wish I had the same relationship with my brother as Penny has with hers (and I assume that Zoe has with Joe).  My brother is a year older than me and we really don't speak to each other. It's nice to see how a big brother, little sister relationship is meant to be!

The way Penny describes New York inspires me to go there one day (for more than 6 hours) and see the parts of New York that Penny sees!

I have known about panic attacks for a long time, I don't get them but through watching Zoella and Tanya Burr on YouTube I feel like I understand them more.  A girl at my work gets them and reading this book lets me know what it is she's going trough and helps with technics on how to make the person feel better.

Overall this book is worth the read and has a few interesting lessons in it that are worth learning.  If you take nothing else from this book, maybe go into your underwear drawer and have a clear out!!! I know I've got a couple of pairs of knickers that I would be embarrassed about being seen in!

If you took the time to read my review, thank you very much!

If you are feeling like a conversation, leave what you thought of the book below and let me know if you have any recommendations for me to read next!

Lots of Love

Alanna x
