My updated skincare routine

Hey, hi, hello!

I know this is a little bit different from my recent postings of Christmas movies galore but I noticed that one of my post popular posts was my skincare. I decided to read what I had written and decided that my skincare had changed and evolved a lot recently!

so to start I take a cotton pad or 2 or 5 ( depending on my makeup application that day) and use the Sephora Triple Action Cleansing water. I love this stuff but I love the packaging even more! Once this product runs out I'm going to have to find a new cleansing water but I'm going to decant it into this bottle because it is so clean and easy to use! (Advice on new cleansing waters please?)

Then I go on and use the body shops Nutriganics refreshing toner. This stuff is lovely! I just take another cotton pad and wipe it a cross my face. It really is refreshing!

After that I go on to using the body shop drops of youth concentrate. Just one big long drop goes onto the back of my hand then dotted around my face. I always put it on so it goes upwards on my face as it makes my face feel like it's had a facelift! As a 22 year old I can only imagine what it would do to someone with real wrinkles!

Then I go on to the good stuff! The stuff that dreams are made of! The bodyshop drops of youth bouncy sleeping mask! It's not cheep but it's totally worth it! It is like a deep moisturizing mask and you wake up to actual bouncy skin!! This is my ultimate night cream that I never thought I would need!

Lastly, it's time for lipbalm, I just use what ever lip balm is near me at the time as I have A LOT of lip balms!

Lastly lastly, I use the "this works" sleep roller ball on my pulse points, close my eyes and go to sleep.. This stuff really does work!

I don't currently have a day time moisturizer, I've just been using my primer for the day before I put anything on!

This has been my routine for about 6 months and I really would/and have repurchase everything!

I do need your help with finding a new cleanser though as I don't have a Sephora near me and this one is running out fast.  It's also way to expensive to just buy online when you can get a good cleanser for just a couple of pounds!

Let me know what you think about my cousins and if there is anything you would change?

Over and out, Alanna xx

P.s. I swear this isn't sponsored!

Arthur Christmas movie review

Ho Ho Ho! Arthur Christmas is a cartoon movie showing a whole new side to the Claus family!

3 santas competing to beat eachother in their different generations and one Santa who doesn't even know that he's in the running!

This movie is 100% safe to watch with kids, watched it just after elf and they were glued to the tv!

My categories

What was my favorite part?
I like when Arthur is happily writing letters to the kids to let them know how amazing Santa, his dad, is. It's so nice to see and reminds me how much I love my dad!

Who was my favorite character?
Margret, or Mrs Claus. She is a true mother figure! Always ready, not expecting credit and impartial to any of the poop! She's so funny for a character who isn't in the limelight all the time!

Where did I find this movie to watch?
I have this movie on dvd 🚂

All I want for Christmas movie review

Stumbling across Netflix in hope of inspiration, my account got stuck on a film called "all I want for Christmas" which is a 1991 comedy.

It's a movie about a broken family but what's nice is that the 2 childrens stories are separate so you get the laughs from a teenage boys problems and the seriousness from the little girls dramas!

My categories

What was my favorite part?
I loved it when hallie and her nana sing "baby it's cold outside" to the Christmas party, it's so cute!

Who was my favorite character?
Hallie, the little girl, has to be my favorite! She is so overly dramatic and her sass is very impressive!

Where did I find this movie to watch?
This one is on Netflix!

*a good tip is to google, "lifetime movies" this will give you a good range of made for TV movies!

Would I watch this again?
I probably wouldn't go looking for this movie again but if it was on channel 5 movies and I wasn't doing anything then I wouldn't say no to snuggling up ans waiting for it to finish ;)

RATING

❄️❄️out of ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

At least I can say I've never seen this one before today so I don't regret watching it to tick it off my list :)

Have yourself a merry little Christmas!

Elf movie review

Hello my little gumdrop buttons!

Please see below one of my favorite movies to watch! I was watching these with my 8 year old, true believer, cousins and I was terrified incase this said that Santa wasn't real!

The movie is about buddy the elf traveling to NYC to meet his corporate dad who never knew he existed! - as if you didn't know what this movie was about!

My categories

What was my favorite part?
I get chills at the end of the movie, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is to sing aloud for all to hear!

Who was my favorite character?
Buddy the elf, what's your favorite colour?

Where did I find this movie to watch?
I have this movie on dvd 🎁

Christmas with the kranks movie review

BAH HUMBUG! Another Christmas review! Today it's a Tim Allen special!

Christmas with the kranks is a movie I could never be bothered watching because it was in the weird tv film-actual movie genre if that makes sense at all?

But anyway, I watched it and I laughed, which surprised me! I go through stages of being ALL ABOUF CHRISTMAS and being a SCROOGE so I could totally get why they would want to go on a cruise!  As I said in a previous review (see my naughty and nice review) I am all about crazy neighbors so this film was surprisingly right up my alley!

 My categories

What was my favorite part?
For me the best bit was when Luther (tim) gave up his tickets to the cruise to his neighbors! I thought that was so nice and as a travel agent I am fully aware of how much a cruise costs, and the cost and effort that goes in to name changes! Even more amazing is that he offers to look after the cat! Talk about commitment!

Who was my favorite character?
Can I have two? It's my blog so yes, I will have two!! The two police men charged with getting Blair home for Christmas made me laugh so much! They were just your typical movie duo who also sang in a band!

Where did I find this movie to watch?
Channel 5 for this one, I do think you can get it in supermarkets for around £3 on dvd though!

*a good tip is to google, "lifetime movies" this will give you a good range of made for TV movies!

Would I watch this again?
Yes, I would watch this again! And I would recommend it to friends!

Snow queen movie review

HOLA! I am SO excited to be writing down my thoughts on this movie!

I remember watching snow queen when I was a heck of a lot younger than I am now and when I got a little bit older I remember getting it in a DVD in the paper! But through all the years of organizing and making messes the did has gotten lost and I had given up all hope of watching it again! Then I came across it on YouTube and the romance of Gertrude and Kai was reborn!

The movie is about the seasons and how important every season is! It was made in 2002 so has that amazing naughty's feel to it!  I could go on and on and on about this movie all day but I'll just say it's worth the watch and go on to my categories for next time i come across it!

My categories

What was my favorite part?
The summer palace! In the summer palace when people dream on a certain bed then the dreams can be seen floating and dancing around the castle, it's beautiful and such a nice thought.

Who was my favorite character?
Autumn was my favorite character because she was a sassy pirate!  I couldn't find any photos of her but she reminds me of a red headed Gwen staffani!

Where did I find this movie to watch?
On YouTube! Just google it!

*a good tip is to google, "lifetime movies" this will give you a good range of made for TV movies!

Would I watch this again?
YES I WOULD! I will say though, you would have to be in the mood to watch it as the movie is over 2 hours long!

Naughty or nice movie review

So which is it? Are you naughty? Are you nice? Well this movie starring the BEAUTIFUL Hilary Burton made me laugh so much and taught me a valuable Christmas message that is in almost every Christmas movie!!

So what's it about? Well Krissy Kringle, a srooge who has just been "released" from her job without a new one has to go and be a shopping mall elf! Around this time Krissy gets hold of santas list! Or book.. And she finds out everyone's naughty side and the trouble they've been causing, one way or another!

I'll let you into the moral of the story without giving too much away, shall I?
"There are two sides to every coin, book and person, so be careful how you judge"

My categories

What was my favorite part?
I loved it when Krissy calls out the theiving neighbor and wins the prize! I love crazy neighbors!!

Who was my favorite character?
Marco the Christmas elf! Krissys friend who sticks by her from the start and isn't afraid to tell her how it is!

I would love to have a Marco in my life!

Where did I find this movie to watch?
I watched it on channel 5, I'm sure it will be on more than once!

*a good tip is to google, "lifetime movies" this will give you a good range of made for TV movies

Would I watch this again?
I totally would watch this again! It's such an easy Christmas watch! Recommend!!

His and Hers Christmas movie review

Good hello my Christmas bunnies! I am going to review EVERY Christmas movie I watch this season!!

The movie that gave me the idea to do this is "his and hers Christmas"! It's about 2 writers from different news papers with different views on Christmas! And, well let's just say it has the usual Christmas miracle at the end!

My categories

What was my favorite part?
The Christmas party where they get to properly interact with a bit of banter and a bit of drama, this is where the movie gets good!

Who was my favorite character?
Dina Meyers best friend! I can't remember her name, but I wish one of my friends would give me their little black book!

Where did I find this movie to watch?
On YouTube! Just google it!

*a good tip is to google, "lifetime movies" this will give you a good range of made for TV movies!

Would I watch this again?
Probably not this year, but I wouldn't change the channel if I saw it on tv!

#gymlife

Hey! So it's been over a month 😁!

Just wanted to let me know how I've been doing for a while.

Well! Excluding this week I have been going to the gym about 3 days a week which is amazing for me considering I didn't do any exercise this time last year!

I'm getting my car fixed this week.. Hence why I haven't been at the gym!

I'm finally getting my periods sorted out, which may seem random but I'm looking forward to it!

My friends are finally finished uni so I can have them back!

I just want to focus on the good things today so there are some of the many things I'm greatful for!

The girl in 6e review

Good evening my dear readers!

So my friend told me that she flew through this book so I thought I would give it a bash!

It was a good book, a "thriller" of sorts. I found my self wondering more about her past and her relationship with Jeremey, the post man and less wondering about the main story line.  I was annoyed that the book was so long but the actual storyline only started half way through the book. I was more excited when Mike called than when she made her movements and, again, I wished I got to know more about the very strange relationship with Jeremy!

I know they have a second book out and I may read it too. I know I would like to hear more about her family past!

Anyway, it's a quick and mindless read that will leave you wanting more, I don't know if I would totally recommend it but I wouldn't tell people not to read it!

What do you think about the book?

Lots of love

Love, Tanya mini review

Hey!

So I sent a challenge to read 6 books in a weekend and this is my second... It's basically a beautiful picture book with lots of lists so it didn't take long to read! I do think it's the kind of book that you could go back to lots and lots depending on your situation. From fashion tips to cooking and help when dealing with stress this book has it all.

The best bits for me were when she spoke about her relationship with her and Jim's families and her travel experiences.

The worst or most pointless bits of the book, for me anyway, we're just the "you list this" bits as I don't want to right in a book and I don't know who would need to write in it? It just seemed like a waste of a page bug I could be wrong!

The photos Tanya put in the book were so nice and it was amazing to see her as more of a "model" than just a cute makeup guru off the internet!

The next you tuber book I would like to be a thing would be tanya's partner Jim as his life seems really interesting! I think I'm just a little obsessed with the Chapman's!

What did anyone else think of the book?

Lots of love

I hate my selfie review

What's up!

I finished the first of my 6 books in one weekend challenge!

The first one I read is Shane Dawson's, I hate my selfie. Which is a collection of essays about his life so far.  As a watcher of shane since 2008 I have heard most of these stories before so it was nice to hear about them in more depth. I think that if you hadn't really watched Shane then you wouldn't get his comedy or understand where some of the stories were coming from.  The best bits of the book for me were when he talked about his love life with HeyNadine or how much he loves Lisbug!

I was disappointed that he never spoke about his short time at maker and that sometimes he joked too much when I just wanted to know how he really felt about the situations! But I Suppose that's just who Shane Dawson is, a comedian with a rough past.

My verdict is read it if you watch the guy and skip it if you don't!

What did you think of the book? Do you agree with me or think I'm speaking shite??

Lots of love

Youtube books

Hey everyone,

I bought a couple of books by youtubers today and I'm looking forward to reading them!

Firstly, I got "I hate my selfie" by Shane Dawson as a recommendation from my friend Ben who said it was hilarious.  Shane is the first youtuber I ever started watching so I've watched him grow and grow in to the man he is today.  I wasn't going to buy his book thinking it was just another "youtuber book" but even reading the first chapter has made me laugh out loud!

After I picked up Shane's book I decided to get "All I know now" by Carrie Hope Fletcher.  I planned on buying this book for a while but when it came out Carrie started saying about how it was for teenagers going through tough times and I thought to myself "I'm not a teenager anymore".  Then I thought to myself, I might not be a teenager anymore but I was one and I think I would enjoy hearing other peoples stories!  So I bought it and of all the books that I've bought recently I am the most excited to read this!

Finally, I was about to go and pay when I saw that Love, Tanya by Tanya Burr was £2 off and I just decided to go for it and buy this as well.  This is the book I am least likely to sit and read right through but I think it would be nice to have.  If nothing else, its a pretty coffee table book!  Hopefully I will really like it once I start reading it as I LOVE Tanya!

Anyway,  I will let you know what I think about the books, please let me know if there are any other youtuber books you think I would like?

P.s.  I have already read Girl online by Zoella - blog post here :)

Lots of Love

The body shop drops of youth!

Hey everyone,

So Zoella.. You all know her! Has been raving about this new skin care product called "drops of youth bouncy sleeping mask" by The body shop and it just sounded AMAZING to me!

Firstly, it's a sleeping mask that you don't have to wash off in the morning!! WHAT? You get to put something on your skin that's going to act as a mask and a night cream? Yes please!

Second, its both a moisturizer and a gel which is even more amazing than it sounds! I can't even begin to describe how nice it feels!

The only downside I have it already is that it comes with a little spatula that you can't attach anywhere on the tub but I think you would need it to make sure you don't put too much product on your face.

It cost £22 which is a lot of money for me to spend on skincare as I've never spent that before but everyone I speak to says it's really cheap!

Anyway boys and girls, I've put it on tonight and I'll let you know how it goes after a couple of uses!

Let me know if you've got it too and what you think of it?

Lots of love

My everyday skincare routine

Hiya everyone!

Today I thought I would give you a quick overview of my current skincare routine..

I have never before been into skincare but this year decided I needed to be so I went to boots and bought some products at the start of the year.  Now after a couple of months I have finally found a routine and products that I really like using!  I used to just use a face wipe then simple moisturiser every night and morning and will still use my simple moisturiser in the mornings when at the gym.

The first step is to use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing water with 2 cotton pads (more if its a heavy makeup day) and I swear this gets off SO MUCH makeup!! As I said, I used to use face wipes and I still have them but when I found out that there is only 1 ingredients different from a face wipe and a floor wipe I just couldn't continue using them on a daily basis! This water takes off so much dirt even if I'm not wearing make up and I love it so much!

The next step for me is to use my toner.  For this I just use the Boots essentials cucumber facial toner.  I love this stuff!  I started off by buying the whole skin range from the cucumber boots essentials range and I really liked it! the night cream was nice and the cleanser was good too.  I just didn't like having to get up when I used my cleanser and I found a night cream that was better!

After this I go on to using the Lush lip scrub called "The Kiss."  I think this was a valentines day special but there are plenty other lipscrubs that have great reviews online.  I love the smell of this scrub and feel like it has been working wonders on my lips since I started using it!  I don't use this every night but when I've been wearing lipstick all day, its a must!

Once I have done all of the hard work my face feels really fresh and this is the perfect time to put a nice thick night cream on.  I am in love with the Nivea daily essentials regenerating night cream!  I put it on my face and neck before I go to my bed and in the morning my face feels so bouncy and like its full of moisture!  I have gotten all the girls at work onto using night creams as it makes such a difference to me when I am applying make up in the morning!

On my body I use the Zoella creamy madly dreamy body lotion.  I know its a classic youtuber product but I am obsessed with the smell and it feels really nice when applied.  I don't know if I will buy this again but I am enjoying it whilst I have it :)

I am still really new to loving my skin so if anyone has any suggestions I would love some feedback and advice on what I should buy next?

Lots of love

Resolution update!

Hey!

Its been - just over - 4 months since I posted my new years resolution post and I thought I would just quickly go through them and let you/me know how I'm doing!

1 - go outside at least once a day -  I kind of think I am doing this! since I started the gym, when I'm having a boring weekend I go there now :)

2 - Say YES more - I think I have been saying yes more, I went on a couple of dates with a guy and even though it didn't turn out like a fairytale I was glad I went.  I need to keep it up though!
3 - Make more effort with friends - This is a tough one! I have really been struggling with it because my friends don't want to make an effort with me right now.  sad right?  It's because they are all at Uni and finishing up in the next couple of months, or they are getting married!! how crazy is it that 2 of my best friends are in the process of planning their weddings!!

4 - take more care of my teeth - Still working on that...

5 - no more fizzy juice!! I've not cut it out and I never will but I have SERIOUSLY cut it down! I was drinking 2 litres of irn bru A DAY for years and now I have been drinking at least 2 litres of water instead!

6 - be healthier! - As I have mentioned a million times, I have joined a gym and I am really happy about that!  It gives me a reason to get up in the morning and I feel like I have so much more energy and I am starting to look better for it!  keep posted for a blog post with my weight issues coming up soon!

7 - save - This I have been doing so well!! Not perfectly but I have been saving! keep it up me :)

8 - travel - Lol... lets ignore this one just now :(

9 - make my bed - LOL... everyone has to have atleast one resolution they totally fail at, right?  I am currently sitting in an unmade bed and I cannot remember the last time I made it!

10 - progress at work - I can only go as far as my work lets me at this time.  Since writing my original post, the economy around me has crashed (oil industry issues) and my work has been on the defence so I will just have to wait a few more months before I can get what I want!

So, I think I'm doing ok at my resolutions.. I wish I could be more positive about the 3 ones that really matter to me right now which are my friends, travelling and progressing at work but its just the way life is and I still have most of the year to make them positive!!

Lots of love

The best iphone apps I know!

Hey!

Another day another post!  Today I thought I would tell you a little bit about what I use on my iPhone!

I have everything organised so it is all on the one page, as that's my OCD coming out.  The first section is games and in there I house Candy crush, ludo, Simpson tapped out (which I'm obsessed with) and words with friends (which I'm really obsessed with!)  They are my only games on my phone but I download new ones all the time to keep my little cousins at peace!

Next 2 apps are just my clock which I use all the time for setting my morning alarms and the settings app that always comes in handy!  After that is the "extras" folder, which I will go back to as it takes so long!

Then I have my fitness pal which moves from my front screen to my extras folder depending on how much I'm using it, this week I am!  Then its the phone and safari, I hardly ever use either of these apps but I don't want to put them away.

Up next is my holy grail!  I tell everyone to get on this, mobile/internet banking!  It has saved my life in so many situations and helps me to manage my money so much more efficiently!

Google is an app I use all the time to search everything and its what I use instead of safari.  Next is facebook messenger, I hate that its 2 separate app's now, so annoying!  After that is my timehop which I go on everyday and laugh over where I was 2,3,4 years ago!

My twitter is @alannafowler for anyone who would like to follow me. I tweet a lot and I love it!

You can follow me on Snapchat as well "moominalanna",  I just upload the most random photos and some toilet selfies!

Then we have my email, always handy and my final folder which should be named "shopping" but I never named it!  In there is my eBay and amazon which I use all the time.  the only other app I really like in there is my Subway card because I quite often go out with just my card and my phone so I like to still get my points.

Going back to my "extras" folder I have the apps that came with the phone along with some apps I hardly ever use but come in handy.  The period tracker is amazing and I recommend every woman downloads it to keep track of where they are!  If you have any issues with your time of the month you can log it all in there then take it to the doctors in case, like me, you are really forgetful of how you felt!  The only other app I use a lot in there is my Goodreads to mark when I finish a book!

The bottom row is my text, whatsapp face book and instagram.  Another thing you can follow me on ;) @alannafowler!

What other apps should I download and is there any apps I didn't cover in here that you would like me to go over?

Let me know!

Lots of love

A little update

Hola!

Is been a couple of months...

Not that it matters, this is just for me!

So what have I done in the last 4 months?  The answer is not a lot of anything..

I've been being healthier, joined a Gym, cut down on my fizzy juice intake and upped the water intake.  I got tickets to a festival in July called Gentlemen of the road which I'm very excited about.  I had a really bad cold and had to take a day off work to recover! I think I've upped my savings and cut down on spending by quite a bit!  If I want to travel I have to keep this up! I've been on dates with guys... then decided I would rather be single!!!

I'm going to be an auntie.. I didn't do this but its affecting my life majorly right now... If anyone ever reads this then they need to understand that unprotected sex leads to babies so if you're not ready then don't be silly!!!!!!!  I don't suppose I can say too much about that though since it's not my story to tell!

In happier news, I got an iPhone 6 and I love it oh so very much!!

I feel like writing just now!  I love having something to look back on to see where I was in my life!

Wish me luck in starting writing again!!

Resolutions 2015

Happy new year!!

I've been thinking about this a lot this year, I always take setting resolutions seriously and this year is no different!

1 - go outside at least once a day - I need to go outside more!! On a weekend I can happily stay in my jammas or even if I get dressed I just won't leave the house! Fresh air is good for your lungs so I've decided to force myself to go outside once a day.

2 - Say YES more - this is one you've probably heard a million times! I have realised that when people say "what have you been up to?" All I can reply is "nothing, just working". I need to say yes and stick to my yes! I need more adventure in my life!

3 - Make more effort with friends - a few years ago I decided to stop making effort with frieds who didn't want to make effort with me but now I think I've turned into them!! I need to make a list of people I need to see and hangout with and actually do it! To be honest, 2014 has been a year of me not having friends through every fault of my own so I dont want to to repeat that again this year.

4 - take more care of my teeth - I need to remember to brush more! Gads I know but I forget then leave the house for work :/

5 - no more fizzy juice!! Water is great for me and it's all I need! Time to stop drinking irn bru!!!

6 - be healthier! - this was last year as well and I was doing so well until around August! I felt so good about myself then, as usual, a boy screwed me over so I lost my confidence!

7 - save - stop buying shite!! I don't need more makeup and I am sorted for nightout clothes for the year! So this year I am going to save more of my money that will help me with goal 8.

8 - travel - I want to travel but I'm scared to do it alone! I need to overcome this fear of find someone to travel with!

9 - make my bed - life is better when you make your bed in the morning so let's just do it!

10 - progress at work - i love my job but I need to take on more responsibility and progress, I care about my job so much and I want to do well!

Some of these goals are small and easy to manage and others are going to be a little more difficult to stick to.  I am going to try my best even when I lag. I am going to go back to this post at the end of the year and see how I have done!

What are your resolutions? I am very interested to know!!

lots of love Alanna xx
